We use the funds raised by CoMoGives to pay for authors' honorariums, travel, and accommodations. It was a wonderful experience but we are ready to get together in person again in 2022! We used the funds raised during CoMoGives last year to benefit the community by: Nearly 50,000 people tuned in to watch an Unbound event. We were heartbroken, but picked ourselves up and in 2021 we put the whole festival online over three months (rather than a single weekend.) We presented 33 different events with 69 authors and poets. The festival was canceled in 2020 after 11 months of hard work. How is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting your organization?

Every dollar we receive goes directly to meeting these costs. Since we have no revenue from ticket sales, none of this would be possible without the community’s support. We pay our authors and poets, buy plane tickets for them, and provide accommodations for them.

(And did we mention that it’s completely free to attend?) What would $50 or $100 mean to your organization?Įverything! It costs a lot of money to put on a festival of this scope and ambition, with writers of the caliber that we attract. United by their love of books, people from throughout the community volunteer their time to put this event on. We also work to promote local literacy initiatives. We raise awareness of the literary arts, celebrate books, and encourage a love of reading for all ages. Why does your organization deserve community financial support?
